myGEZE Connects service application and myGEZE Bluetooth® module in practical testing

How does the service application myGEZE Connects work in practice? And how does it assist with the maintenance and repair of automatic doors? ‑service Technician Michael Meyer reports on his experiences with the myGEZE Connects service app and the myGEZE Bluetooth® module during commissioning, diagnosis, parameter setting and maintenance of GEZE automatic doors.

What first attracted you to the new myGEZE Connects service application?

At first glance: clarity. I no longer have to click through endless lists of parameters and error codes. The application displays error names directly – including causes and measures. This saves me time immediately, because I no longer have to search through support at the same time. Signals and running data are also visible in real time. Overall, the user interface feels modern, self-explanatory and significantly faster.

How does the new Bluetooth‑module benefit you in your everyday service work?

Above all, freedom of movement. I work wirelessly, can move freely around the facility and still have stable communication – with a noticeably greater range than with the old module. Above all, this is safer, as there are no cables in the way, and often faster, because I can measure or observe directly where it matters.

What does your commissioning process look like today – step by step?

It's actually quite simple. There are basically 5 steps:

  1. Connect the myGEZE Bluetooth® module to the rain sensor-‑-485‑interface of the DCU on the drive (for Powerturn and linear sliding doors, use a cinch‑adapter if necessary).
  2. Activate the module at the touch of a button and search for/pair it in the application. In my experience so far, the module search is very convenient and works without any problems.
  3. Start the myGEZE Connects application on your Windows-‑e laptop/tablet.
  4. Adjust parameters, check signals, carry out learning processes (practically as a separate tab).
  5. Save the project file (the application automatically suggests the serial number as the project name, e.g. ), generate a PDF report (‑) and, if necessary, share it via email (‑) or transmit the configuration to other systems.

Finished.

And in terms of maintenance – what has improved?

The maintenance function is a real highlight. All maintenance-related data is bundled together. In addition, I can download document‑: I can access manuals, wiring diagrams, etc. directly in the application – without having to search through folders. The PDF‑protocols are clear and look professional. For me, that means less downtime, greater efficiency, better traceability – and ultimately satisfied operators.

What do you value when it comes to documentation and project management?

The project‑import/export‑function with change preview is very well designed – I can specifically select which parameters are to be transferred. The serial number of the‑device can be changed directly in the application. And the PDF‑protocol is much clearer than it used to be. For rollouts, I can manage system-specific configurations and roll them out efficiently. This prevents errors and also saves time.

Which function saved you the most time in practice?

The combination of real-time‑data, error analysis with cause determination and necessary measures, as well as automated PDF‑logs and document‑downloads directly in the application – I no longer waste minutes searching for files‑.
